Advert

We are looking for a new Key Stage 2 Leader to join our SLT and become a key part of the staff team at our successful school. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a friendly and highly supportive environment.

Due to the increasing popularity of our school amongst the local community, our school grounds have undergone massive improvements with the addition of a new school hall, classrooms, library, staff room and a new reception outdoor area. This is all whilst keeping the number of children at 210 across the school, meaning that we have the unique balance of being a traditional village school, but with the facilities of a new school. This unique balance means that we have a distinctive ethos in our school of retaining traditions of the past whilst, at the same time, embracing innovative and forward thinking leadership. Our school motto is ‘forward thinking for a brighter future’ and we embrace this entirely. We reflect, we debate and discuss (often through academic research and collaboration with others) and we learn – just like our children. Our school is a community of learners regardless of age.

At Ryarsh Primary School we have happy, articulate and confident children who constantly demonstrate high levels of learning behaviours and a desire to learn. They are quite simply a pleasure to teach.

If you are:

  • A fantastic classroom practitioner who is able to lead by example
  • A great role model for both colleagues and children
  • Able to lead, motivate and inspire children and adults based on a foundation of strong relationships
  • An innovative and strategic thinker, who can add value to a successful school
  • A good communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Creative, fun, energetic and wanting to make a difference
  • Looking to develop your skills and career in a leadership position

Some of what we can offer you:

  • Chance to learn and grow as both a teacher and leader through varied opportunities for professional development
  • A culture of trust based on the understanding that every teacher is the leader of their own classroom
  • A school that cares about staff well-being and workload so that you have the conditions that enable you to take immense joy from your working life

Please come and see this for yourself at a time of your convenience. Relationships matter to us and we will meet all interested candidates individually to make sure that you leave the school with a real insight into what we could offer our future Key Stage 2 Leader. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit to as we would love to meet you to discuss the position further.

This role is class based. It will also include the role of subject leadership.

Ryarsh Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to the position will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure check.

Information about the school

At Ryarsh Primary School, we recognise that while outcomes matter, they only tell part of the story.

Schools rightly spend time analysing measurable success—assessment scores, progress, work in books and pupil voice. We are proud of the strong outcomes our children achieve. However, we believe that what truly defines a school cannot always be measured. It is found in the culture we create, the relationships we build and the way every member of our community is supported to thrive.

When you join Ryarsh Primary School, you become part of something more than a workplace—you become part of a family. We do not use that term lightly. Whilst communities can be formed through circumstance or location, we see ourselves as a family because we are bound together by strong, meaningful relationships.

Within our Ryarsh family, everyone—regardless of age or role—is a learner. We are a community where minds are nurtured and challenged, where curiosity is encouraged, and where every individual is given the opportunity to grow and flourish. Our approach is rooted in thoughtful, research-informed practice, enabling us to remain reflective, innovative and continually striving to improve.

We believe in working collaboratively and with purpose. We listen carefully, value every voice and seek to empower all stakeholders to contribute to the life of the school. Every person within our community plays a vital role in shaping what makes Ryarsh such a special place.

There is something quietly powerful about what happens here each day—a sense of belonging, care and shared purpose. It is this that truly defines Ryarsh Primary School.
