We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working teaching assistant with a good standard of English, Maths and IT. Relevant experience and teaching assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

At present the school has 107 children taught in 4 classes with plans for the school to expand in September 2020.  The Teaching Assistants are classed based during the morning, supporting pupils with Maths and English. During the afternoon the Teaching Assistants run intervention activities with individuals or small groups who need additional support. The school has a very supportive Governing Body and an active School Association.

The position is permanent and begins on 6th January 2020.

There is also the option to work additional hours as a Breakfast Club Supervisor.

The successful applicant will have high expectations of behaviour and pupil welfare and will understand the commitment that we have, as a school, to the safeguarding of children. This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and subject to the receipt of satisfactory references.

Information about the school

Sellindge Primary School is situated in a rural location between Ashford and Folkestone. The building dates back to 1900 but has completely been renovated and working conditions are excellent. The school was judged as ‘Outstanding’ at its last two OfSTED inspections.

This a 0.5 entry school with plans for expansion to 1FE beginning September 2020.

At present the school has 103 children. The school is dedicated to the welfare of our pupils and ensures that all members of staff are committed to our safeguarding policy.

We have 3 full-time teachers,3 part time teachers, 5 teaching assistants, a SENCO, and Headteacher.

The school has a very supportive Governing Body and an active School Association
