Advert

Our school vision is clear that students learn best when they have plenty of opportunity for trips and visits outside of the school environment.

Northfleet School for Girls are seeking to recruit Minibus Drivers on a casual relief contract basis. The work is not guaranteed and hours will vary throughout the school year and maybe outside of 'normal' school hours.

To be considered you must:

  • Have held a driving license for at least 12 months which is clean with a category D1 designation
  • Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check
  • Be punctual and reliable

The successful candidates will be contacted in advance with details of trips/visits and will need to confirm their availability to drive the school minibus on a pre-agreed visit to mainly local sites but with some farther afield. Previous experience of a driving role would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given. School staff will always be present during journeys to supervise students.

Kent County Council and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The appointment is subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check.

We reserve the right to appoint before the closing date.

Information about the school

“'We are like a big family. I enjoy coming to work because of the staff and the students are all so polite” Staff survey 2024

Our vision is that all students should "dream big and achieve" through the following:

  • High expectations in all aspects of school life including uniform, attendance, behaviour and academic achievement
  • Working together through truly valuing a positive working relationship with staff, students and parents
  • Enjoying the journey, we strongly believe that all involved in our community can enjoy being at our school and create lasting positive memories.

We are at a very exciting stage of realising our aspirational vision through the following:

  • Very strong academic achievement, significantly above Kent similar school averages
  • Continued oversubscription across the school
  • A key emphasis that we are not an exam factory, we seek to develop the whole person with equal importance to academic performance
  • Valuing and developing our committed staff team through wellbeing support and further career opportunities
  • A strong financial position allowing us to invest for the future

Further quotes from our 2024 staff survey include;

'The staff are very friendly and helpful at NSFG and have made me feel very welcomed at the school'

'Good understanding and support by SLT of personal circumstances'

'The behaviour policy is effective, especially when it comes to minimising disruption in the classroom'

'I feel that there is an open door policy where I am able to have effective conversations with my team and SLT- I feel like we are a team working together, with the same purpose'

'I feel valued in my role and feel fully supported by my line manager'

'Behaviour is excellent'

'Good relationship between SLT and teaching staff'

''Family feel' amongst staff, sense of cohesion. SLT support - no 'them and us', feel you can go to anyone in SLT with a concern or for support'

''Supportive, friendly colleagues. Happy and well-behaved students. Great use of IT resources across the school to support teaching and learning.'

''I absolutely love my job being able to support a range of students and work along side some really hardworking and caring peers!'
