The Galaxy Trust are seeking to appoint a part time Speech and Language Therapy Assistant for an immediate start to support and develop our pupils regardless of ability, education, behaviour, social or emotional needs. The role would involve working in conjunction with the school’s Speech and Language Therapist to support primary aged children (3-11) in small groups or one to one.

The successful candidate will ideally possess GCSE’s (or equivalent) in English & Maths at grade “C” or above. The ability to travel effectively and efficiently between school sites across The Trust is essential.

Candidates from a variety of backgrounds are welcome to apply; however, some experience of working in a school environment / having worked with children would be expected and an understanding of the importance for safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all pupils within the school. Additional experience supporting children with special educational needs would also be welcomed.

A full induction will be provided to enable the successful candidate to play a full part in the life of the school, supporting in lessons, pastoral care, curriculum enrichment activities and building positive relationships with pupils and staff. Ongoing training opportunities for career development and progression will be available.

The role is permanent, 19.5 hours per week, term time only, 38 weeks per year, Monday – Friday.
