30 hours per week, term-time only, to start as soon as possible.  20 hours either morning or afternoon would be considered (please specify this on the application)

We are looking to appoint up to two teaching assistants to support outstanding teaching and learning.  You could be deployed anywhere in the school from our Pre-School through to Year 6 depending on the needs of the children.  Candidates must express their preferred Key Stage in their applications: Early Years/KS1/KS2.

 Our children deserve someone with:

*a mature attitude and infinite patience

*excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

*a caring and calm nature

*an excellent attendance record

You will be required to support children's educational, social and emotional development.  There are sometimes aspects of physical development that require support including toiletting needs; this would be for specific children, for which training would be provided.  Prior experience in a childcare/educational setting would be advantageous but a commitment to the post and the children is much more important.

All teaching assistants have outstanding professional development.  For exceptional teaching assistants, the school may support progression routes through to gaining formal teaching qualifications.

Information about the school

We are one of the largest primary schools in Kent with nearly 862 children on roll, including a 27 Pre-School that offers 30 hour provision. Following our Ofsted inspection, January 2023, we join a small group or primaries who have kept their OUTSTANDING judgement in every aspect of the school. This is attributable to the dedication and professionalism of ALL staff.

When joining us, you will be supported to be the best that you can be. As an academy within the Coastal Academies Trust (CAT) we are passionate and driven in delivering outstanding opportunities for our whole community- staff, children and parents.

We are a family. Our school is warm and welcoming to children, their families and staff. The school is immensely proud of the diverse community it serves and is committed to maintaining outstanding outcomes for every child, no matter what their starting point in an environment that promotes intellectual, physical, emotional, social and spiritual development. As with any school, there are challenges...but the rewards of working at Cliftonville are huge.

Our school values of Independence, safe and settled, respect, resilience, aspiration, learning and community are integral to all that we are and do at Cliftonville Primary and Pre-school. As part of our commitment to community we make it our mission to promote positive wellbeing for all our pupils, staff and the wider community including parents and carers. We recognise that without positive wellbeing we cannot reach our full potential. Therefore, we aim to educate and support our whole school community on the importance of wellbeing and mental health, ensuring it is everyone’s responsibility to care for one another. Through our innovative ‘Wellbeing Hub’ we will provide mental health support, understanding and intervention for pupils and parents ensuring a holistic approach.

Our staff are our greatest resource and so we ensure that all staff have a supportive network and feel they are listened, to and valued at all times.

We work together with a whole range of partners including parents, external agencies, local groups to foster warm, friendly and purposeful relationships. Through these partnerships we support and develop the childrens social, and emotional foundations upon which learning is achieved through a bespoke, exciting, ambitious and engaging curriculum.

The school holds a number of important accreditations including most recently the Well being Award, the Inclusion Quality Mark and the Continuous Professional Learning and Development Quality Mark.
