Rusthall St Paul’s CE Primary School has a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with autism in the Early Years.

We are a nurturing and inclusive school where children’s well-being is at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic practitioner who can work under the guidance of the class teacher but equally has the ability to work under their own initiative. The role involves supporting a child with autism who is currently working well-below age expectations and therefore requiring significant support. The role would suit someone with either nursery or pre-school experience.

 

The person appointed will

-have experience of working with pupils with autism

-have experience of working with pupils with speech, language and communication difficulties

-have good use of language, be a good communicator and able to liaise with therapists and other agencies

-support the pupil with all their basic needs including toileting

-be adaptable and therefore able to support the pupil’s physical and sensory needs
