Suitable candidates will need to have experience of working with challenging behaviour and hold (or working towards) suitable teaching support qualification ( Level 2/3). Whilst experience is highly valued we are also keen to interview staff with limited experience but with good aptitude. We welcome applications from candidates who have experience in residential care for children and young people. To ensure the correct staff balance and dynamics, we are keen to recruit male & female team members.

Requirements of Bank Outreach LSA

  • To deliver education in the community to SEN young people as part of an outreach education service
  • To be able to deliver lessons to schemes of work provided by staff
  • To follow a bespoke timetable for the young person as directed
  • To be able to lead on a wide range of activities
  • To have a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of young people
  • To be able to follow a plan for a young person and report back to line manager as directed
  • To be able to be consistent and to maintain boundaries
  • To be able to build positive relations with children with a variety of needs
  • To be able to tailor your approach to suit the needs of the child
  • To be able to follow procedures for ensuring the safety of child
  • Prior experience of working with SEN/ SEMH young people in education preferred
  • A good working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection essential

Responsibilities of Bank Outreach LSA

  • Keep information about young people confidential.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the young people we support.
  • Maintain written records and write reports.
  • Provide guidance and support in daily activities to the young people we support.
  • Promote independence.
  • Have a good understanding of the benefits available to young people.
  • Promote further education, employment or training to the young people we support.

Salary: £8.00 to £10.00 /hour
