We are seeking to appoint a Midday Meals Supervisor, who will be the first point of contact for first aid to commence in June 2019.  The post is for 1hour 45 mins per day, 11.45am to 1.30pm, term time only.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively and enthusiastically as part of a team and be able to engage effectively with the children, extending them in purposeful activities and enhancing their social skills whilst having fun.  You will need excellent communication skills and have the ability to create a positive, inclusive environment.

We would expect the successful candidate to have a firm but fair approach whilst being patient and understanding.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To supervise pupils during mealtimes.  You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the pupils, promoting good table manners and standards of behaviour and ensuring a calm and orderly environment.  This may involve assisting children with cutlery, crockery etc.
  • To supervise outdoor play (or in bad weather, the classrooms / school hall).
  • To encourage safe and constructive play.
  • To minimise the risk of playground accidents, but where they do occur, treating the incident in the correct manner, as per our First Aid Policy.
  • To intervene where appropriate to avoid arguments/unkind behaviour and responding to such situations according to our Behaviour Policy.

If you are successful you will be joining a supportive, enthusiastic and committed team.

A First Aid qualification is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

Visits to the School prior to application are welcomed.

Remuneration will be on Kent Range 2 £17,364 pro rata to actual hours (actual pay equates to £3,397.57 pa, for 8.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year)
