Do you love teaching and want the best for children? Are you passionate about learning and want children to reach their full potential?  We are looking to welcome someone to our team who has high expectations and the ability to inspire and motivate children.  Following our successful Ofsted inspection in March 2018 we are a growing school with a rising roll.  The post is initially fixed term until August 31st 2019, however dependent on roll number there may be the opportunity to apply for a permanent position from September 2019.

We are seeking to appoint a Key Stage 2 Teacher who will work alongside our existing excellent Year 5 teacher to deliver targeted learning and interventions to our Year 5 cohort. The successful candidate will share the class with the current teacher/SENCO, but have their own classroom space to develop and use to deliver targeted smaller group teaching and interventions to our pupils.  The cohort have a diverse range of needs and abilities, therefore experience with working with a range of SEN needs would be beneficial.

In return we can offer a highly motivated and dedicated team of staff who are committed to school improvement, professional development and the achievement for all pupils. We are staffed with caring, lively and committed professionals and provide a supportive working environment.  Visitors to our school frequently remark on our friendly manner and supportive and caring team.

Lydd Primary school is a 1.5 form entry Primary school in which we encourage and nurture children to be the best they can be. It is part of the Village Academy Trust and working within the academy trust you will receive: -

  • Access to relevant CPD.
  • A supportive and cohesive team of work colleagues.

Our school and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an enhanced CRB check.

Information about the school

We are an average sized primary school with a growing roll of hard working, polite and friendly children. The school has a team of friendly and skilful teachers who deliver a broad and interesting curriculum. At our last inspection we were judged to be a good school with an outstanding early year’s provision. Our teachers work hard, but as OFSTED noted we are also aware of the importance of a good work-life balance and morale is high amongst staff.

The school is well resourced, with large buildings, outdoor space and excellent local facilities for exploring learning outside the classroom.

Although Lydd is Kents most southerly village, it is well connected by road to many main towns. It is an easy commute from Ashford (where many of the staff live), Hastings, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe. Do come and meet our friendly staff and wonderful children, you are sure of a warm welcome.

All posts are subject to 2x satisfactory references in line with KCSIE, one of which must be your most recent employer and/or most recent childcare setting and an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. We may also seek references before interview.
