TEACHING ASSISTANT (Fixed term contract August 2018)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team. We are looking for candidates who have very high expectations of themselves and others and work well in a team. The successful candidate may work with children with additional needs including children who have a physical disability.  This position is to cover various classes.

The position is part-time - 3 morning a week (approx 11 hours per week).

If you have a strong commitment to raising children’s achievement through an exciting and creative curriculum, are well motivated and want to be a key player in developing pupil independence in a caring community, then you will enjoy working in our happy and successful school.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Information about the school

Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is an inclusive, non-denominational school working in partnership with the Tunbridge Wells Primary Schools Collaborative Trust. The school was built in 1967 and is situated on the western edge of Tunbridge Wells in a leafy and pleasant residential area.

The school site is beautiful, elevated and fringed with green playing fields and woods. A fragrant quiet garden, pond and wooden structures in the grounds offer opportunities for happy playtimes.

We have just under 230 pupils in the primary and nursery classes. We also have a designation for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs who are all included in mainstream.

We run Wrap Around Care at the beginning of the day and after school for our school and nursery children and during the holidays we run a Holiday Club for all children in the community.
