About the Role

Working under the direction of the class teacher, you will support children in our reception class to access a rich and stimulating Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. You will help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment where children can develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities.
  • Work with individual children and small groups to promote learning and development.
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and well-resourced learning environment, indoors and outdoors.
  • Support children’s personal care and daily routines sensitively and respectfully.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support children’s social and emotional development.
  • Contribute to observations and assessments under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to school life.

We are on the lookout for a passionate and dynamic individual who is ready to make a real impact in our classrooms!

You should:

  • Have experience of working with young children, ideally within an Early Years or school setting.
  • Hold a relevant Early Years qualification or be willing to work towards one.
  • Have a good understanding of child development and the EYFS.
  • Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in early childhood education.
  • Work well as part of a team and communicates effectively with adults and children.
  • Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting children’s wellbeing.

This role is:

  • Part-time term-time
  • Monday to Friday
  • 33.75 hrs per week (30 hours are offered on a permanent contract, the extra 3.75 hours are attached to the Early Years setting and will be reduced should you move to another year group)
  • Salary is KSA (£26,168 FTE - approximately £20,272 pro rata)

At The Stour Academy Trust, we value our staff and are committed to their professional growth. You will have access to continuous training linked to effective teaching practises and innovative technology use, enabling you to contribute meaningfully to our educational mission.
