We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and discreet Safeguarding & Inclusion Administrator to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring that our safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and SEND systems operate efficiently, enabling every student to receive the support they need to thrive.

Working closely with the Senior Deputy Headteacher, Designated Safeguarding Leads, SENCo and wider pastoral team, you will provide high-quality administrative support across several key areas of school life. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, works well under pressure and has excellent attention to detail.

The Role

You will:

  • Provide administrative support for safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and SEND.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records using the school's safeguarding systems.
  • Liaise professionally with parents, staff and external agencies.
  • Coordinate meetings, referrals and appointments, taking accurate minutes where required.
  • Support attendance monitoring and behaviour administration.
  • Assist the SENCo with SEND administration and student support processes.
  • Ensure all information is handled with the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Is able to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • Communicates confidently and professionally with a wide range of people.
  • Has outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Is resilient, calm and able to deal with sensitive information discreetly.
  • Has strong IT skills and is confident using Microsoft Office (experience of school management systems is desirable but not essential).
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to become part of a supportive and committed team where your work genuinely makes a difference to the lives of young people every day. We value our staff, invest in professional development and promote a culture of collaboration, wellbeing and continuous improvement.

If you are looking for a rewarding administrative role where you can contribute to an inclusive and caring school community, we would love to hear from you.

Information about the school

Oakwood Park Grammar School is a five-form entry (usually 160 in each year) Boys’ Grammar School of currently 1095 students. We have a co-educational Sixth Form of 311 students. Entry at 11 to the school is through the Kent Test (11+) where students sit three papers in Mathematics, English and Reasoning.

We have been on the site since 1959 and we share an attractive campus with two schools (St Augustine Academy and St Simon Stock) and a college of Further Education (Mid-Kent College). This gives the site a unique feel with over four thousand students.

Our teaching and support staff are dedicated and hardworking and very loyal to the school.

Oakwood Park Grammar School has a wealth of extra-curricular activities for its students. Sport is very strong with national success in football, alongside rugby, cricket, basketball and athletics. We also cater for rowing, fencing, table tennis and climbing. Music and Drama are also popular with an annual production. We also have other extra-curricular activities such as robotics, debating and chess.

Academic standards are high at both GCSE and A Level. In the Sixth Form, on average, well over half of our students who apply to universities will secure offers from prestigious Russell Group universities and we regularly send students to Oxbridge colleges.

We were graded Good overall by Ofsted but did achieve Outstanding for our Behaviour and our Sixth Form provision.

We are a welcoming, open school with a clear focus on developing staff, with teaching and learning at the heart of our professional development.
