Hours: 30.5 hours per week as a Teaching Assistant plus 2 hours per week as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm)

Contract: Permanent

Term Time Only: 39 weeks per year

About the Role

Are you a dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in your career? Or an experienced TA seeking a new challenge in a supportive and inclusive school?

Bligh Primary School is looking for a skilled and caring Teaching Assistant who can also provide Higher Level Teaching Assistant support for two hours each week. This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed team focused on helping every child thrive.

In this role, you will:

  • Support learning across a range of year groups and abilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions and classroom support
  • Work closely with teachers to help pupils achieve their potential
  • Lead learning during allocated HLTA time
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive environment where all children feel valued

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working with primary-aged children
  • Is confident supporting learning across the curriculum
  • Can lead groups of pupils effectively
  • Is calm, flexible and proactive
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Shares our commitment to inclusion and high expectations

Most importantly, you will be passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Bligh Primary School forms part of the Maritime Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust that is committed to making sure that education is meaningful.
