Furley Park Primary School would like to appoint an experienced Attendance and Safeguarding Officer to join our dedicated and highly effective team and a two year fixed contract.

The successful candidate will work within Key Stage One, Key Stage 2 and Foundation Stage.

The successful candidate will be committed to lead and manage the school's attendance systems and processes in accordance with the Department for Education's Working Together to Improve School Attendance guidance, Kent County Council procedures, and statutory requirements, while actively supporting safeguarding practice in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

The postholder will work proactively with pupils, families, and external agencies to:

  • Promote excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Reduce persistent and severe absence
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and statutory compliance

Furley Park Primary School operates a child safe appointment policy. The successful candidate will only be appointed subject to a successful Criminal Records Bureau Check. References must be current, open references will not be accepted.

Hours: 37 hour per week (to include pre and post school support) Term Time only, however, with flexibility (where possible) to attend any safeguarding meetings that may occur in the holidays.
