We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant and Midday Meals Supervisor  to join our friendly and supportive team at Temple Ewell Church of England Primary School.  This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and support high‑quality learning across the school.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and development. You will help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment and provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups, including those with additional needs.

This post is split into two roles:

Teaching Assistant role is for 15.75 hours per week, 3 days a week term time only (38 weeks) 

Midday Meals Supervisor role is for 3 hours per week, 3 days a week term time only (38 weeks) 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
  • Work in small groups and 1:1 to help pupils access the curriculum
  • Assist with planning and delivering learning activities
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment
  • Support pupils with SEN, behavioural, or emotional needs as required
  • Contribute to assessments, record‑keeping, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Supervise pupils during break times, transitions, and school activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies
  • Supervise and support pupils during lunch and playtime
  • Assist with setting up and clearing the lunch area
  • Respond to minor incidents and follow school procedures
