Advert

We are excited to present a rare and outstanding opportunity for a dynamic, forward-thinking, and energetic Head of Food and Nutrition to lead our thriving Food department across both our Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks sites. This is an exceptional chance for an ambitious teacher or an existing Head of Department to further develop their leadership experience while shaping the future of Food and Nutrition at TWGSB. This is a role for a leader who wants to make a genuine impact and leave a legacy.

The Food and Nutrition Department aims to develop its students’ curiosity and understanding of the world around them through the products they use and the food they eat. The ‘hands-on’ practical aspects of the course serve to develop students’ skills and confidence with ingredients and kitchen equipment. At KS3 the curriculum explores the different areas of The Eatwell Guide so that students understand how a balance of good health is achieved. At KS4 students can continue their learning in food by opting to take Food Preparation and Nutrition at GCSE.

The Food Department is located in the brand-new school building, which opened in September 2021. The food room is spacious, with air-conditioning and induction hobs and blast chiller. There is an additional theory area in the room with interactive whiteboard. The Food department is supported by two exceptional Food Technicians, ideally located at both campuses. Additionally, the location of the Food department means students have easy access to the brand-new IT rooms for NEAs.
