Steephill School

Steephill School is seeking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic and committed Class Teacher to join our welcoming and dedicated staff team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on the strengths and experience of the successful candidate.

We are a values-driven school where children are at the heart of everything we do. Our ethos is built around Kindness, Knowledge, Inclusivity, Nurture and Determination, and we are looking for a teacher who will actively bring these values to life in the classroom and across the wider school community.

This role would suit an inspiring practitioner who is passionate about delivering high-quality learning experiences, has high expectations for all pupils, and enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.

An interest or strength in Art and/or Design & Technology would be welcomed, although this is not essential.

Information about the school

Steephill School is a coeducational independent day school, for pupils aged from three to eleven years old. It is situated in the beautiful Fawkham Valley area between Dartford and Gravesend in a quiet lane overlooking the thirteenth century St Mary’s Church.

The school was founded in 1935 by Miss Eileen Bignold, who established its excellent reputation for high academic standards. In 1990, the school became a charitable trust administered by a Board of Governors.

Our small classes (maximum 16) bring out the best in young children who receive all the help and encouragement they need from our qualified, experienced teachers. Each child benefits from the individual attention necessary to achieve his or her full potential.

As a small school the staff, parents and children all know each other and this contributes to our happy, family atmosphere.
