Behaviour Support Assistant

28.75 hours a week (5 days)

Term time only - 39 wks per year (including Staff Development Days)

Kent Range 6, Point 17 – 20 (£27,904 to £29,020 pa)

Pro rata to £18,983.09 pa to £19,742.31 pa

A professional and adaptable person is required to work as part of our dynamic behaviour team, supporting students with Social, Mental and Emotional Health (SMEH) and other difficulties are appropriately supported and to play a key part in ensuring that students with difficulties are supported, and strategies and interventions are implemented, to ensure that these students do not prevent the effective teaching and learning of other students.

Our ideal candidate needs to be confident, calm and level-headed/unphased by student behaviour, able to work independently and assertive. A background in working in an Alternative Curriculum Provision, Behaviour Referral Unit, PRU or the prison education system would be a benefit but is not essential.

The successful applicant must:

  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills to liaise and communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • Flexible approach to duties and ability to act on own initiative.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrate professional integrity and strict adherence to protocols.
  • Hold a good attendance and punctuality record.
