 SPECIALIST RESOUCE PROVISION TEACHING TA

Location: Chilmington Green Primary School
Contract: Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Hours 8.45am to 3.30pm – Monday to Friday

Grade: KSA £25,413 FTE (pro rata approx. £16, 880)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) at Chilmington Green Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Due to the expansion of our SRP provision, we are recruiting additional staff to support an increased number of pupils joining us in September. [New Advert Request | Outlook]

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional and complex needs
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning programmes under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and communication development
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and external professionals
  • Contribute to observations and record-keeping to track pupil progress

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children in a primary school setting (experience in SEN/SRP desirable)
  • Is calm, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is committed to inclusion and enabling every child to achieve their potential
  • Holds (or is willing to work towards) relevant TA qualifications

Information about the school

Location: Ashford, Kent UK Chilmington Green Primary School is a growing primary school on the new Chilmington Green development in Ashford. Opening in 2018 in a temporary building before moving into a state-of-the-art building in 2021. Pupil numbers are growing rapidly, currently standing at 260 pupils. We would encourage any applicant to visit the school for a tour. It is operating at one form entry in Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two and will eventually allow two forms of entry, as 60 Year R pupils join the school each year. The school nursery has a dedicated space for children aged 2 - 4 years old. The school also includes a Specialist Resource Provision for up to 14 pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
