Trust Lead – Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)

Based across Wrotham School (4 days per week) and Aylesford School (1 day per week)

Character Education Trust is seeking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational and highly skilled Trust Lead for Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to drive excellence in language education across our schools.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional practitioner and leader who is passionate about raising standards, developing innovative curriculum practice and ensuring all students experience high-quality language learning. The successful candidate will work predominantly at Wrotham School, with one day each week based at Aylesford School, supporting collaboration, curriculum development and outstanding teaching across the Trust.

The Trust Lead for MFL will play a key strategic role in shaping the vision for languages education, supporting colleagues, improving outcomes and fostering a love of languages among students of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the MFL curriculum across the Trust
  • Support and coach teaching staff to deliver exceptional classroom practice
  • Drive improvement in student progress and attainment in MFL
  • Promote innovative and engaging approaches to language learning
  • Develop assessment, teaching resources and curriculum consistency
  • Contribute to wider Trust improvement priorities and professional development
  • Build strong relationships across departments and schools within the Trust

The local mainline station is a 10 minute walk from the school and is on the direct commuter line to Victoria Station in central London; this line includes stops at Bromley South.
