About the Role

As Assistant Headteacher – Outreach Lead, you will play a key strategic role in championing inclusive practice across the Trust and wider community.

You will lead and develop the Maritime Outreach Support Service, working closely with schools, families and external professionals to ensure children with SEND receive the support they need to thrive.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a highly skilled team of specialist outreach professionals
  • Drive the vision, strategy and growth of outreach and inreach services
  • Provide expert guidance to schools on SEND identification, assessment and inclusive practice
  • Design and deliver high-quality CPD, coaching and training for school staff
  • Strengthen leadership capacity and inclusive provision across Trust schools
  • Build strong partnerships with families and multi-agency professionals
  • Monitor impact, evaluate provision and drive continuous improvement in SEND outcomes

This is a high-impact leadership role with the opportunity to influence practice at scale and shape inclusive education across multiple settings.

Who You Are

We are looking for a dynamic and committed leader who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has significant experience of SEND leadership and inclusive practice
  • Has a proven track record of leading outreach, school improvement or system-wide initiatives
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of SEND needs and effective mainstream provision
  • Has experience delivering high-quality CPD and developing staff practice
  • Is an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships across schools and services
  • Is a strategic thinker with the ability to lead, inspire and influence others
  • Is passionate about improving life chances for children and young people with SEND
