An enthusiastic, caring and committed KS1 teacher with high expectations is required for a temporary role due to a maternity leave from September 2026. All being well the current teacher will still be in post to work alongside the new teacher at the start of term 1.

Our vision is that all children should leave Ditton Infant School as resilient members of the community, with a thirst for learning, and a desire to be the best they can be. We pride ourselves on developing and supporting the whole child and have a dedicated and experienced wellbeing team. We also place great value on establishing positive relationships with parents.

We are looking for:

  • A well organised and efficient teacher with excellent communication skills who is committed to the highest standards of teaching, learning and pupil achievement

  • Experience of teaching KS1 and delivering KS1 assessments
  • A teacher with a love for outdoor learning opportunities

In return we can offer:

  • Collaboration with colleagues, Key Stage partners and local collaboration schools.
  • The support of an experienced teaching assistant and other teaching assistants when necessary.
  • A friendly, hardworking and supportive team who work closely together to ensure each child enjoys learning and achieves their full potential.
  • A commitment to professional development
  • Happy, enthusiastic and well-behaved children

If you are interested, please contact the Headteacher, Mrs. Claire Lewer on 01732 844107 to discuss the position further or answer any questions. Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged.

Information about the school

Ditton Infant School is situated in the heart of Ditton village and benefits from lots of green space which we share with our neighbouring junior school. We are a happy, caring and family-orientated school and promote a love of learning outdoors. Our professional, experienced staff team work together with parents and carers to ensure that our children develop as confident and independent learners in a happy environment which nurtures every child and challenges them to achieve their full potential. We believe that an effective induction of new staff members is key, and have training opportunities available both in school and within our collaboration of schools to enhance this.

Although the Ditton Infant and Junior schools have separate head teachers and governing boards, both leadership teams are committed to working in close partnership in order to benefit the children and families they work with.

Everyone at Ditton Infant School is committed to safeguarding children. Any offer to successful candidates will be conditional upon satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS and health check; we will endeavour to request references before interviewing.

We will carry out an online search as part of our due diligence on any shortlisted candidates. This may help identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available on line, which we might want to explore with an applicant at interview. This information will be kept on file for 6 months, in line with data protection procedures.

All posts at Ditton Infant School are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. It is an offence to apply for the role if an applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Please note that we will only accept applications made electronically through this site.
