The Whitstable School is looking to appoint a suitable person to join our Site team.

We are seeking a practical person with a ‘can do’ attitude, who is prepared to turn their hand to anything, sometimes at short notice. The role will be varied, no two days are the same in our busy school and we are therefore looking for someone who:

  • Has a flexible approach
  • Has experience of using tools and machinery to carry out repairs/site maintenance
  • Is able to work both alone and as part of a team
  • Has a willingness to work outside core hours, if required
  • Is reliable
  • Is a good timekeeper

The successful applicant will report directly to the Site Manager and involves supporting with the general maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds work, including undertaking minor repairs, porter duties, the locking and unlocking of buildings, lawn mowing, liaising with contractors and ensuring the school site is kept safe and clean.

This role is 30 hours per week, hours to be discussed at interview. There is an expectation that the successful candidates will commit to working one weekend in every four (on rotation with other members of the team).
