About this Role

Contract: Voluntary (with optional paid opportunities for trips and training)

Hours: (Tuesdays 3:15–4:30pm required); additional hours for events/training

Start date: ASAP

 

Role Purpose:

To support the delivery of the Brompton Academy  Combined Cadet Force (CCF) programme by engaging with students, assisting in training sessions, and helping to organise and deliver a range of activities. Volunteers contribute to developing students’ confidence, leadership, and life skills in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support weekly cadet training sessions in areas such as military knowledge, navigation, first aid, and adventure training.
  • Mentor cadets, helping them to develop personal and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
  • Participate in or help coordinate exciting outdoor challenges and training courses (e.g. kayaking, mountain biking, leadership development).
  • Support the logistics and organisation of events, including weekend camps and trips.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all cadets.
  • Work as part of the CCF team to plan, deliver, and evaluate the cadet programme.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, staff, and other volunteers.
