Job Title: Nurture Teacher (Secondary)
Location: Heath Farm School, Ashford, TN27 0AX
Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: April 2026

About the Role

As a Nurture Teacher within our KS4 provision, you will play a vital role in delivering inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning across a broad curriculum. You will strive for consistently high standards, ensuring that every learner is supported, challenged and empowered to achieve their full potential.

Working under the reasonable direction of the Head of School and Senior Leadership Team, you will carry out the professional duties of a teacher in line with school policies and expectations. You will also actively uphold the ethos, values, and organisational practices of the school, contributing as a committed and collaborative member of the teaching team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the learning, progress and achievement of all students, ensuring equitable opportunities for every learner.
  • Ensure effective curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for students within the Nurture setting.
  • Support the development of students’ literacy, numeracy and IT skills through high‑quality subject delivery.
  • Plan and prepare long‑term and medium‑term curriculum plans aligned with learners’ needs.
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Teach in accordance with individual educational needs, including the setting and marking of classwork and homework.
  • Deliver motivating and engaging lessons with clear expectations, aimed at raising attainment for all learners.
  • Provide effective personalised learning, including differentiated tasks and tailored support.
  • Maintain high expectations, fostering respectful, trusting and constructive relationships with young people.
  • Use assessment effectively to identify needs, set challenging yet achievable learning targets, and inform future planning.
  • Implement a personalised and holistic learning approach in every lesson, using a wide range of assessment strategies.
  • Deliver Functional Skills and other relevant accreditations at KS4.
