Are you an inspiring and ambitious Technology specialist ready to lead, motivate, and shape an exceptional practical department?

Technology is a vital and popular faculty within our school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to lead the whole faculty, overseeing DT, Engineering, and Hospitality and Catering, while maintaining a direct teaching responsibility for Food Technology and the Hospitality and Catering course at KS4. This is an exciting role designed for a visionary leader to work with an already inspirational team at a pivotal stage in our academy’s journey.

Our students achieve well at Key Stage 4, and Technology provides an excellent pathway for onward progression to college or apprenticeships. We are looking for a leader who can build a vibrant and inclusive programme that encourages innovation, practical skills, and a lifelong appreciation for design and making in all our pupils.

The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner with the interpersonal skills to lead and inspire both students and staff. We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers ready for their first leadership step, as well as experienced teachers looking for a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead, motivate, and shape the direction of the Technology faculty across the school.
  • Excellence in Teaching: Drive high standards of teaching and learning across DT, Engineering, and Hospitality and Catering.
  • Technology Specialism: Deliver high-quality Food Technology and Hospitality and Catering lessons at KS4, inspiring students to reach their full potential.
  • Curriculum Development: Help build a practical curriculum that ensures students make excellent progress and develop a love for Technology.
  • Faculty Integration: Bring the faculty together to showcase student innovation and craftsmanship through school-wide projects or exhibitions.
