We are looking for a friendly, organised and professional School Receptionist & Attendance Officer to join our team and become the welcoming face of our school community.  

The role involves providing high quality administrative and front of house support on the reception desk. You will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents/carers, staff and visitors handling enquiries, managing communications and ensuring pupil attendance records are up to date. There is also dedicated time each week to monitor and produce reports for the Headteacher in relation to pupil attendance and sending associated letters to parents/carers.

If you are experienced in office administration, enjoy customer-facing roles, have strong organisational / IT skills, and would enjoy working in a school environment, we want to hear from you.

The successful applicant will be employed on a permanent contract for 34 hours per week for 38 weeks a year. It is paid on Kent Scheme B pro rata (actual annual salary will be £19,786).

The hours are spread evenly across the five days starting at 8:30, with an unpaid lunch hour. Candidates wishing to have a shorter lunch hour, so that they are finished by 16:00, can discuss this at interview. Appointment will be from as soon as possible.

Sandling is a popular, high achieving, 2 form entry primary school in the north of Maidstone.

The school is well resourced with many facilities including: a library, computing suite and extensive grounds with a wildlife and outdoor learning area. We offer a wide variety of clubs for children to enrich their learning.

We had a successful two day OFSTED inspection in May 2025 with a grading of 'good' in all areas.

With easy access from the M20, and being situated less than 3 miles from Maidstone centre, the school is easily accessible by road.
