As a school we are looking to appoint a committed, creative and effective SENDCo/class teacher to join our friendly, supportive, and highly committed team of professionals within our popular school, part of the Rivermead Inclusive Trust.

Due to the set up of our SEND team, with a full time SENDCo and SEND assistant in place, we are in a position to offer the opportunity to a candidate that wishes to develop their experience as SENDCo and support their future qualifications too. The SENDCo qualification is desirable but not essential. This individual will work alongside the SENDCo team as well as continuing to ensure high quality teaching and learning as a part time class teacher.

Do you DARE to join our amazing team and show the Luton Spirit!

You will:

  • Have QTS and a proven track record of great teaching and great outcomes for pupils.
  • Have high expectations for all pupils, giving them the opportunity ‘to be the best at what they do’.
  • Enjoy a collaborative approach to school improvement in a team environment.
  • Work with the community to ensure each child has the best opportunity for holistic development.
  • Have a passion for lifelong learning within children, families and colleagues.
  • Value the importance of relationships.
  • Ability to work within the SEND Code of Practice, particularly being robust and rigorous in relation to the Assess-Plan-Do-Review cycle
  • High levels of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and produce detailed reports
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent understanding and application of SEN programmes and resources to best meet the needs of our children.
  • Ability and skills needed to ensure continued inclusion provision improvement through coaching and feedback.
  • Ability to ensure strong partnerships and communications with parents/carers.

We can offer you:

  • A fun, supporting and friendly team and wonderful positive children.
  • A well-resourced school.
  • Staff who work closely together in year group teams to plan and deliver our exciting, themed curriculum and provide mutual support and challenge.
  • Bespoke training designed to meet the needs of our team from both external and internal trainers – a ‘grow our own’ attitude.
  • A range of opportunities for career development throughout our Multi Academy Trust.
  • A dynamic and supportive team of professionals that support each other.
  • Weekly focused PDM meetings committed to staff development.
  • Staff incentive scheme including discounts for gym memberships and childcare.
