EYFS Teacher – Join Our Wonderful School Community

Starting Sept 2026

The children, staff and governors of Hernhill CE Primary School are looking to appoint an excellent, creative and highly motivated EYFS teacher to join our warm and supportive team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who believes in the power of early childhood education and is excited to nurture curiosity, independence and a lifelong love of learning in our youngest pupils.

At Hernhill, our Christian vision of “a life in all its fullness” (John 10:10) underpins everything we do. We are committed to ensuring everyone flourishes academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

We are also proud to be an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) school, placing high value on the role of play, exploration and outdoor learning in supporting children’s wellbeing, creativity and development.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an inspiring and reflective EYFS practitioner who understands how young children learn best
  • Creates engaging, play-based and language-rich environments where children thrive
  • Embraces the importance of outdoor learning and play as part of a rich early years curriculum
  • Is passionate about developing confident, curious and happy learners
  • Shares our commitment to our Christian ethos and nurturing every child to flourish
  • Is eager to continue developing their practice and pedagogical knowledge

Hernhill CE Primary School is a friendly, welcoming and happy school community.

We can offer you:

  • Wonderful, enthusiastic and well-behaved children who love to learn
  • A dedicated and supportive staff team who collaborate and care for one another
  • Opportunities for high-quality professional development and career progression
  • Supportive parents, governors and a strong community ethos
  • An environment where play, outdoor learning and wellbeing are highly valued
  • A genuine commitment to staff wellbeing and a healthy work–life balance

If you are a teacher who wants to inspire young minds, embrace the joy of early learning and be part of a caring school family, we would love to hear from you.

Come and help us give our youngest learners the very best start to their school journey and support them to experience “life in all its fullness.”

We would enjoy meeting with you and encourage interested teachers to come and visit our lovely school. Please contact Mrs Sunley in the school office to arrange a visit.

At Hernhill CE Primary, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and staff. We expect all applicants to share this commitment and the post will be subject to child protection screening appropriate to the post, including reference checks with previous employers and an enhanced DBS check. Hernhill reserves the right to conduct an online search on shortlisted candidates, as part of our due diligence and any relevant information found concerning a candidate’s suitability to work with children will be discussed at the interview.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early and proceed to interview upon receipt of a number of suitable qualified applications.
