Fairford Academy Barnehurst is a three-form entry primary school within Illuminate Minds Trust, located on the borders of Barnehurst and Erith with excellent transport links. The school works closely with partner schools within the Trust, sharing best practice, policies and curriculum approaches, supported by ongoing investment in staff development and training opportunities.

The Trust has developed a distinctive “no excuses” culture of Excellence Every Day, built on the belief that every child belongs. Restorative practices underpin our relational approach, helping to create a supportive community where pupils, families and staff work together to achieve positive outcomes.

This strong foundation has led to the development of an exciting new initiative: the opening of the first SEMH specialist resource provision in the borough. The provision is growing rapidly and is designed as a “school within a school” model, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs while maintaining strong connections with the wider school community. This innovative provision reflects the Trust’s commitment to inclusion and ensuring that every child can succeed.

Illuminate Minds Trust is seeking a highly motivated, organised and resilient SEMH Inclusion Coordinator to join our friendly and supportive team. This role is 36 hours per week, 40 weeks per year, and offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to be part of an innovative and developing provision.

The SEMH Inclusion Coordinator will play a key role in building strong relationships between the school and families. You will work closely with pupils and parents within the SEMH provision, supporting engagement with learning, wider school life and relevant community services. The role involves ensuring families feel connected, supported and fully involved in their child’s development.

You will also provide administrative support for the provision, including coordinating admissions, maintaining pupil records, organising annual reviews and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the provision.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting children. You must be solution-focused, tenacious and committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed.

This role supports our Trust vision: “Everyone belongs, relationships matter and we work together to achieve Excellence Every Day.”
