Are you a passionate and dynamic teacher looking for your next adventure? We are excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time teaching position in our large mixed-aged Key Stage 2 class, covering Years 3 and 4. This role will be available from September 2026, and we would love to hear from you!

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who has a few years of teaching experience under their belt and is ambitious about their career. If you have your sights set on senior leadership and are considering studying for the relevant NPQ courses, this could be the perfect fit for you.

At our school, you will join a relaxed and supportive team dedicated to providing a high standard of learning for all our students. We believe in fostering an environment where innovative and effective evidence-led practices thrive. Your ideas and creativity will be welcomed as we work together to inspire our pupils and enhance their educational experience.

We value collaboration and a positive atmosphere, making it easy for you to settle in and feel at home. If you are ready to make a difference to the lives of our children and contribute to a vibrant school community, we encourage you to apply.

Visits to the school are encouraged; please contact Mr Tristan Wyatt-Hughes, Headteacher to make an appointment via email or School Office.

All applications must be made via Kent-teach using the KCC application form.

Information about the school

St Margaret’s, Collier Street is a small and welcoming Church of England village school which is ideally situated between Maidstone and Tonbridge. Our children, of which there are currently 123, are polite and love to learn. Our latest SIAMS report in November 2025 stated that ‘Aspirational and caring staff ensure pupils, including those considered vulnerable, are enabled to grow and bear fruit. Time, resources and a deep feeling of responsibility create an inclusive learning environment that is supportive and developmental’.

We are very well resourced and have a purpose built children's kitchen, additional teaching rooms as well as very spacious grounds. We offer a friendly school which maintains close links with the church and where everyone works together for the benefit of every pupil. We have very supportive parents and an active PTA.

Our school and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
