KCC commissions King's Reach to support male students, with complex needs, when all other settings, for a variety of reasons, have been unable to meet need. As a Christian Ethos charity our work is built on hope, love, and practical transformation. At the heart of our work is our Future Me programme - a unique approach that helps young people grow in confidence, gain life skills, and move towards independence.  

The Role

As a Learning and Development Coach, you’ll support young people at whatever level they currently are but you will always strive for them to achieve everything they are capable of achieving. You will:

• Work 1-1 with male students taking full responsibility for their learning journey.
• Plan and deliver a wide range of educational sessions including our Future Me programme
• Support young people to reconnect with trusted adults, engage in learning, and feel part of a community 
• Work closely with families, education providers, and professionals to support each young person’s progress 
• Create flexible plans that help students move forward at their own pace
• Keep accurate records, track progress, and advocate for the young person’s needs 
• Be a consistent, calm and reliable presence in their lives - someone who doesn’t give up 
• Transport students to and from our site, as well as to activities and sessions taking place in locations across Kent.
• Can build trust with young people who may have experienced rejection or trauma
• Is patient, calm, and able to listen without judgement 
• Is not afraid to challenge behaviours in a nurturing and supportive way.
• Believes every young person has potential and can be the 'You Can' when the young person is not able to see their own potential
• Has experience working with young people (aged 11–18+) in education, youth work, social care, or similar settings 
• Can work flexibly and travel around Kent as required
• Has strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills 
• Understands safeguarding and the importance of keeping young people safe 
• Is resilient and self-motivated to make a real difference.
