We are seeking a professional, caring individual who wants to provide the best possible education for our children.

The role will involve assisting the class teacher in a range of duties to support pupils to make progress on targeted areas. You may be asked to provide ad hoc support to other pupils in the classroom. You will provide playground supervision as needed during breaktime and lunchtime.  The role may occasionally require intimate care support. 

We need:

• An individual who has the ability to enthuse and motivate children.
• A commitment to support the highest standards of learning.
• An ability to communicate, work as part of a successful team, take on board advice and use initiative.
• An individual who is organised, efficient and flexible in their approach.
• Someone who has experience of working with students who require support to understand concepts and express their ideas both verbally and in writing.
• Someone with a willingness to further develop and widen their own skills. 

We can offer some flexibility in working hours, with support required from 9:15-12:45. This role is a term time only, initially a fixed term contract until 31/08/26. We would like the suitable candidate to start as soon as possible and may contact candidates as applications are submitted.

Previous experience of the knowledge and skills for the role is desirable although not essential. A sense of enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a professional outlook is key. We have in the past taken in people changing career for this role, with full induction and training offered to support you in the first 6 weeks.

The applicant should have a minimum of GCSE Grade C in English and Maths, or equivalent, and have good verbal and written skills.

Information about the school

We are a small, half-form entry primary school situated in the beautiful Kent countryside, just outside Tunbridge Wells. The school hall is in the Victorian part of the building and most of the classrooms are in a newer purpose built extension. We have a great library space as we believe all children should have the opportunity to read widely and be reading for pleasure.

We are small school team that believes we should be doing ‘big school things’. We share our high academic expectations with all our staff, parents and young people: we work hard as a group so that all pupils achieve well. More than this, we believe a primary school should be a place where children start to learn who they are, start to learn who they want to be and start to learn how they are going to live their lives.
