We are looking for a dedicated, friendly and reliable individual to join the Higham Primary School Breakfast and Afterschool Club team. 
 
This position is to support another member of the team in our Afterschool Club for 2.5 hours per week, every Friday from 3.15pm to 5.45pm, term time only. Additional ad hoc hours may also be available to cover staff absences.
 
For reference our Breakfast Club runs Monday to Friday 8.00am to 8.40am (term time only), and Afterschool Club runs Monday to Friday 3.20pm to 5.45pm (term time only).
 
In this role, you will help to support the day-to-day running of the Afterschool Club, providing a warm, welcoming and enjoyable environment for all children.  You will work closely alongside another member of staff to supervise children, support their wellbeing, and ensure they feel included and engaged in a range of activities. This role also includes helping to prepare and serve a healthy light tea.  The club has up to 22 children per session. 
 
We are looking for individuals who will:
  • Be reliable, enthusiastic and proactive
  • Be confident working with children providing support and positive behaviour in a caring and inclusive environment
  • Supervise a range of activities, including crafts, games and outdoor play 
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
  • Prepare a light tea, maintaining good hygiene standards
  • Provide first aid where necessary (training can be provided if required)
  • Maintain the club to a good standard of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Be willing to undertake any additional training required for the role
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school procedures at all times

Higham Primary School is a one form entry school with 210 pupils currently on roll. We are located in Higham village, between Gravesend and Rochester.
