Salary:     £19,205.87 per annum (£13.25 per hour) (not pro rata)
Hours:      32.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and personal development. Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals, you will help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence within a nurturing, inclusive environment.

You will:

  • Support individual pupils and small groups to engage with lessons and tasks
  • Clarify and explain instructions, learning activities, and use of resources
  • Provide encouragement, reassurance, and positive feedback to promote focus, confidence, and self-esteem
  • Deliver targeted support in areas such as reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting, and presentation
  • Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds GCSEs grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Has experience working with children in educational, care, or support settings (desirable but not essential)
  • Is caring, patient, and enthusiastic with a genuine desire to help vulnerable young people
  • Can adapt to varied classroom and outdoor environments with flexibility and confidence
  • Works well in a team while being able to take initiative when needed
