Recently recognised by Ofsted as Outstanding in Personal Development and Leadership and Management, Thistle Hill Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our successful team.

In this role, you will provide support to individual pupils and small groups across the school, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. There may also be opportunities to work within our Specialist Resource Provision and Alternative Provision.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Hold qualifications related to Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), and/or
  • Have proven experience supporting pupils with ASC.

However, we are also open to applications from exceptional candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, commitment, and potential to thrive in this role.

The ideal candidates will be hard-working, flexible and adaptable with good literacy and numeracy skills. We would like someone with a calm and positive approach to working with children with varying levels of special educational needs.

The roles are:

  • Term time only working, Monday to Friday
  • 30 hours per week 
  • KSA salary approximately £24, 513 gross FTE (38 weeks per year + 5 weeks holiday pay) Pro rata £16, 880
  • Subject to funding therefore offered as a temporary contract until 31st August 2026 and is subject to annual review
