Vale View School is a welcoming and inclusive primary school seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SENCo to join our team. This role includes class responsibility for two days per week, alongside leading SEND provision across the school.  The successful candidate will work closely with staff, pupils, families, and external agencies to ensure every child with additional needs is supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the primary age range in line with the SEND Code of Practice

  • Identify, assess, and support pupils with additional needs

  • Coordinate and review EHCPs, class provision maps and personalised learning plans alongside class teachers

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, parents, and outside professionals

  • Provide advice and support to staff to promote inclusive classroom practice

  • Teach a class for two days per week, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons

  • Contribute to the caring and inclusive ethos of the school

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination (NPQ)

  • Have experience of SEND within a primary school setting

  • Be a strong and reflective classroom practitioner

  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
