Advert

Our Alternative Curriculum Provision based at Rowhill Special School, has an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to join our team.  The position involves being part of a dedicated and successful team who are committed to “making a difference” to children and young people with SEMH and learning difficulties.  The ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues is essential.

We are looking for a qualified Teacher with a passion for working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs.  Experience of working with pupils who have SEMH and learning needs would be beneficial, however, a passion and resilience for working in this sector is more important. The pupils in ACP are all KS4.

Our Alternative Provision is committed to providing high quality teaching and learning support for children who have SEMH, learning difficulties and in many cases, have had significant previous absence from education.  The role will include supporting students in small groups and also on a 1:1 basis, as well as providing tutoring both on and off site. English and Maths would be a distinct advantage.

Our staff work closely with pupils and families to create an ethos of care, respect and success. At Rowhill we feel strongly that our pupils are entitled to a broad, balanced, inclusive, relevant and learner-focused curriculum, which will develop young people to be lifelong independent learners.

Although the advert has a close date, applications may be shortlisted and interviews held sooner, negotiations at interview stage could also be possible for a reduced FTE rather than a full time role.

For further information or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Justin Hemsley on 01474 705377 or via email hemsleyj@rowhill.kent.sch.uk

The post is subject to all relevant pre-employment checks, including an enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and check against the ISA Barred List for children.  Please note as part of Keeping Children Safe In Education requirements, Rowhill School may carry out online searches for all shortlisted candidates.
