Thistle Hill Academy is seeking a dedicated and proactive Parent Support Advisor to join our team. This vital role serves as the welcoming ‘front of house’ for parents and pupils, working closely with the front office and collaborating with staff across the school. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our children and families.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key point of contact for families, supporting parents, pupils, and professionals with empathy and professionalism
  • Liaise effectively with school staff, external agencies, and the wider community to address and support the diverse needs of pupils and families.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure smooth communication between families and school staff.
  • Provide practical support during transition periods and help remove barriers to learning and wellbeing.
  • Support the wider Trust, including collaboration within the Swale Hub, as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have relevant experience working with families, including parents, pupils, professionals, and external agencies.
  • Possess knowledge of inter-agency provisions and the ability to work collaboratively with school leadership and staff.
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be organised, diligent, and efficient, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Show a positive, flexible attitude with a willingness to go above and beyond to support children, families, and colleagues.

The role is:

  • 30 hours per week across 5 days Monday to Friday. Please note these days may be subject to change in the future based on the needs of the school.
  • Term time only working, plus 5 staff development days across the year.
  • Pro-rata KR5 salary - approximately £16, 914 per year (gross)
