Salary: TA D2 4–11 £17,359.25–£19,702.40 (Actual)

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant at Barnsole, you’ll play a crucial part in helping pupils—including those with SEND—develop academically, socially and emotionally. You will:

  • Provide personalised 1:1 or small-group support

  • Assist with personal care where needed, ensuring dignity and respect

  • Help deliver engaging, inclusive lessons and interventions

  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive learning habits

  • Contribute to a calm, nurturing, and inclusive school environment

You will work closely with class teachers, support staff and leaders who value teamwork, communication and child-centred practice.

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting children with SEND

  • Experienced in ASD, speech and language needs, SEMH or other additional needs

  • Skilled in literacy and numeracy (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent desirable)

  • Calm, empathetic, patient and resilient

  • Able to work proactively as part of a supportive team

  • Committed to ongoing professional development
