Administration Assistant

37 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (15:30 on Fridays)

Term Time only + 1 extra week. Additional hours by negotiation

Nexus School is a vibrant and supportive special school dedicated to making a difference for children and young people with additional needs. We are seeking an organised, proactive and professional Admin Assistant to join our Pupil Administration, HR & Reception team.

You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of school operations, working across three key areas:

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has strong administrative and organisational skills.

  • Can work accurately, efficiently and with attention to detail.

  • Communicates confidently and professionally with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies.

  • Is adaptable, proactive and able to manage deadlines in a busy environment.

  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professionalism at all times.

  • Has GCSE Maths & English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.

Experience in a school or SEN environment is desirable but not essential.

Purpose of the job:

Pupil Administration

  • Coordinate and minute EHCP/Annual Review meetings.

  • Maintain accurate pupil records, trackers and care plans.

  • Liaise with staff, families and external agencies.

Reception & Front of House

  • Be the welcoming face of the school: managing calls, emails, ParentMail, post and visitors.

  • Support with attendance, events, educational visits and daily administration tasks.

HR Administration

  • Maintain employee records in line with GDPR.

  • Support staff induction and absence administration.

  • Assist with policy compliance and HR documentation.
