FEDERATION SENCO Position to work across Seabrook CEP School and St Martin's CEP School.

To commence Term 4 2026.

 Are you passionate about fostering inclusion and ready to make a significant impact? 

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our Leadership Team and champion inclusive practices across our federation. This is a unique opportunity to shape educational provision, nurture pupil growth, support staff development, and navigate the evolving landscape of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The successful candidate will:

  • Bring a wealth of experience in cultivating inclusive classrooms and effective teaching practices that nurture all learners.
  • Demonstrate confidence in assisting staff to differentiate and adapt their provision to meet diverse needs, fostering a supportive learning environment where everybody can thrive.
  • Show strong leadership in preparing our school for the new Ofsted inspection framework, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils with SEND, especially those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, nurturing their confidence and resilience.
  • Proactively support the effective deployment of additional adults to enhance pupil outcomes, ensuring every child receives the nurturing support they require.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the new Kent SEND funding model and support strategic planning and implementation, ensuring resources are used effectively to nurture pupil success.
  • Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be in the process of obtaining it).
  • Be a trained Mental Health Lead (or willing to undertake the DfE-funded training as part of the role) to nurture the emotional well-being of our pupils.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in accordance with KCSIE 2025, creating a nurturing and secure environment for learning.

Information about the school

St Martin's Church of England Primary School is situated in a coastal setting in Folkestone. St Martin's is an outstanding half form entry school and enjoys excellent links with the local church, St Martin's, and the surrounding community. . The school has 7 classes, each with an average size of 30 children. St Martin's CEP School works closely with it's sister school Seabrook CEP School which it federated with in 2017. The schools share an Executive Headteacher and a leadership team that work across both sites. There are excellent working relationships across the federation which enable staff, children and families to work in partnership to support the education of the children.
