Nursery Teacher / Early Years Practitioner

Contract: 3/4 days per week, perm (term-time)

We are seeking a passionate Nursery Teacher / Early Years Practitioner to join our school-based nursery, supporting children aged 2–4 years and leading a talented, experienced team. Our 45-place nursery, recently rated ‘Outstanding’, offers large, well-resourced rooms and a spacious garden with high-quality play equipment.

Set within five acres of exceptional school grounds, our nursery makes full use of exceptional facilities, including:

  • Extensive outdoor learning spaces
  • Woodland areas and a wildflower meadow
  • An all-weather multi-games area
  • Purpose-designed EYFS environments

You will receive full support from senior leadership, including administration, finance and admissions, managed by the Assistant Headteacher responsible for nursery provision—allowing you to focus on leading high-quality practice and developing your team.

  • Develop the nursery curriculum to ensure full coverage of the Early Years Framework
  • Ensure inclusive practice for all children, including those with SEND and EAL
  • Support and model effective key person practice, promoting purposeful engagement and motivation to learn
  • Track and assess children’s progress, identifying next steps and supporting staff to do the same
  • Identifying children who are not making expected progress and discussing this with the SENCO and other practitioners
  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of early years practitioners
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and inclusion

What we’re looking for

 

Hold either a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) Early Years Practitioners Status(EYPS).

  • A deep understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • A child-centred approach, modelling the ethos and vision of the setting
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • The ability to build positive relationships with families and the wider school community
  • A reflective, innovative practitioner who keeps up to date with current early years developments

We are a very popular primary school in the heart of the Kings Hill community with 420 pupils and 60 children on roll in our Nursery.
