Are you passionate about connecting people and making a difference for children and families? This is a unique opportunity to shape a brand-new role at Barnsole — helping to build strong partnerships between families, local organisations, and the school.

About the Role

As a Community Ambassador, you will:

  • Build relationships with families, businesses, charities, and services.

  • Support and organise events such as coffee mornings, workshops, and community days.

  • Represent the school in the wider Medway community.

  • Signpost families to local support services.

  • Work with the inclusion and wellbeing team, and the wider Trust network, to create real impact.

This is a varied role — from welcoming parents at the school gate to developing new community initiatives. You’ll work independently but with strong support from the Barnsole team and a Trust-wide network of Community Ambassadors.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Approachable, empathetic, and a great listener.

  • Confident working with a wide range of people.

  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage their time well.

  • Passionate about supporting families and children.

Experience

Community experience comes in many forms. You may have:

  • Helped run a PTA or school event.

  • Supported a youth group or sports team.

  • Volunteered with a local charity or fundraiser.

  • Organised local activities or family engagement events.

If you have supported or connected people in your community, we’d love to hear from you.

What We Offer

  • Supportive leadership and a culture where your ideas make a difference.

  • Free on-site EV charging for staff.

  • Access to CPD through the Maritime Academy Trust’s learning platform, LearnUpon.

  • Local Government Pension scheme & national terms.

  • Comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme.
