Deputy Headteacher (Standards and Effectiveness) 

Nexus School is seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher (Standards and Effectiveness) to join our Senior Leadership Team. Working closely with the Headteacher, you will provide strategic leadership and ensure the highest standards across the school. You will lead on school improvement, self-evaluation, assessment, and curriculum development, ensuring high-quality teaching, effective interventions, and measurable impact across the school. 

This role is initially a 2 year fixed term contract and may become a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead on school improvement, self-evaluation, and standards, ensuring a culture of continuous progress. 
  • Oversee assessment and data, driving evidence-based decisions and interventions. 
  • Champion high-quality teaching, learning, and curriculum development across all phases. 
  • Support safeguarding, behaviour, and family engagement to promote pupil wellbeing and success. 
  • Inspire, develop and support staff, building leadership capacity across the school. 

About You 

We are looking for an ambitious leader who: 

  • Holds QTS with senior leadership experience (special school experience desirable). 
  • Has a proven record of raising standards and improving outcomes. 
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of SEND pedagogy and curriculum design. 
  • Is an excellent communicator, able to inspire confidence and build positive relationships.
