Contract: Permanent

Actual Salary: Grade D2 (Points 4–11, £18,356.81 – £20,878.91) + SEN Allowance £1,539

We are seeking a compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our supportive team.

This is a role with real purpose. You will support children’s medical and personal needs, enabling them to learn, play, and thrive in a safe and inclusive environment.

What You’ll Do 

  • Provide medical and personal care, including medication, feeding, and toileting.

  • Support pupils with healthcare needs so they can access learning and enrichment.

  • Monitor wellbeing, update care plans, and report concerns.

  • Coordinate First Aid, maintaining resources and accurate records.

  • Build positive relationships with families and health professionals.

  • Offer reassurance and pastoral support for children who are unwell or upset.

  • Ensure safe participation in trips, swimming, and wider school activities.

  • Contribute to safeguarding and inclusion policies.  

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, empathetic, and motivated to support children’s wellbeing.

  • Experienced in healthcare, education, or caregiving (SEND experience desirable).

  • Calm, professional, and a strong team player.

  • Organised, proactive, and open to training for medical needs.

  • Ideally holds NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (training available).

Danecourt Special School is part of the Maritime Multi-Academy Trust, an innovative partnership of schools in Greenwich, Bexley, Kent and Medway . Our schools transform through collaboration and an entrepreneurial curriculum which equips children with life skills. We are a special school catering for primary aged children who have special educational needs. The children who attend Danecourt have a wide breadth of needs including complex learning difficulties and autism.
