We are looking to appoint a talented Key Stage 2 Teacher to teach in a Year 6 class and to join our strong and committed team from January 2026. This is a great opportunity for someone to make a real contribution to our children with our bespoke curriculum that fosters a love of learning and a passion for investigation and enquiry. Teachers starting their careers or who have experience will be considered. 

We are looking for an experienced Year 6 teacher or someone who would like Year 6 experience to lead the class. You will be Class Teacher who has:

  • An ability to create a stunning learning environment

The post is for a fixed term of a year to cover a maternity and either full or part time will be considered.

Information about the school

Bapchild and Tonge CE (Aided) Primary School and Nursery is a one form entry through primary school with 212 pupils currently on roll and a popular Nursery with up to 24 places per session. The school is on the outskirts of Sittingbourne and part of the Rural Swale Collaboration Group (RSCG) of schools. Parents and children describe the school as having a friendly atmosphere and our pupils enjoy coming to school. Our Ofsted inspection (March 2025) said that the school is good and commented that adults are compassionate and are responsive to the needs of pupils. It also commented that 'the school is a place where pupils are valued and cared for.' Our SIAMS in December 2024 stated that 'The school vision has been instrumental in building a culture where pupils and adults feel included, supported and are treated well. This creates a caring community where high value is placed on strong relationships and the worth of individuals.'
