At Rodmersham School, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive — academically, emotionally, and socially. We are now seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and nurturing Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our warm and inclusive school community.

This role is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and child development. You will work across our KS2 phase (Years 3 to 6), supporting class teachers, small groups, and individual pupils to ensure that all learners make the best possible progress.

Whether it’s helping to boost confidence in maths, supporting reading interventions, guiding pupils with additional needs, or offering emotional reassurance during challenging moments — this role is diverse, rewarding, and impactful.

What does the role involve?

  • Supporting learning in class alongside teachers across Years 3 to 6

  • Delivering small-group interventions and tailored support for individual children

  • Encouraging a positive attitude to learning through praise, patience, and persistence

  • Assisting with classroom organisation and the preparation of learning resources

  • Building warm and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families

  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent and nurturing strategies

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to adapt provision for pupils with specific needs

We are looking for someone who:

✅ Has experience working in a KS2 setting or with primary-aged children
✅ Is flexible, reliable, and confident moving between different year groups
✅ Communicates clearly and professionally with children and adults alike
✅ Demonstrates a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
✅ Has a positive, can-do attitude and enjoys being part of a busy team
✅ Is committed to inclusion and passionate about helping every child succeed

In return, we offer:

🌈 A welcoming and supportive team of staff who genuinely care about one another
📚 High-quality professional development and training opportunities
💡 A creative and forward-thinking school culture
🌿 A beautiful learning environment that includes Forest School, Beach School, and outdoor learning
🎉 A leadership team who listen, support and value your contributions
