Wrap Around Care Supervisor – A Key Role Supporting Children Beyond the Classroom

Hours: 25 hours per week flexibly across the week

Are you passionate about creating a safe and fun environment for children beyond the school day? Do you have the organisational skills and enthusiasm to lead a team and deliver high-quality wrap around care? If so, Bligh Primary School would love to hear from you!

We’re looking for a proactive and caring Wrap Around Care Supervisor to lead our before and after school provision. You’ll be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the club — from planning engaging activities to ensuring all children are safe, happy, and supported. While you will need to lead on the activities and the planning you won't always be required to attend the before school session.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading a small team to deliver a warm, welcoming, and well-organised wrap around care provision.
  • Planning fun, inclusive activities for a range of ages — from creative play to homework help.
  • Providing a healthy breakfast and after-school snack in line with school guidance.
  • Working with the admin team to monitor payments and maintain accurate records.
  • Keeping safeguarding at the heart of everything you do.
  • Building great relationships with children, families, and school staff.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Is confident in leading others and planning activities.
  • Understands safeguarding, health and safety, and food hygiene responsibilities.
  • Can communicate well with parents, staff, and children.
  • Is organised, reliable, and committed to creating a caring wrap around environment.

What We Offer

Bligh Primary is a warm and welcoming school at the heart of the local community. As part of the Maritime Academy Trust, we’re proud to offer:

  • Term Time only with Free Childcare option available to meet requirements of the role
  • A supportive and friendly team.
  • Access to wellbeing and financial support services (including early salary access via Wagestream).
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • A forward-thinking culture where your ideas and input are valued.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference to children's experience of school — before and after the bell rings!

If you’re ready to lead a happy, safe and thriving wrap around care provision, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll find further details about the role, school, and trust in the Candidate Information Pack attached. Applications must be submitted online via the My New Term website before the deadline. Please note that we may interview and appoint candidates as applications are received, so don’t delay—apply today! Contact the school office to arrange a visit on 01634 232589— we’d love to show you what makes Bligh so special.

Information about the school

Bligh Primary School forms part of the Maritime Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust that is committed to making sure that education is meaningful.

Our Trust is made up of 11 primary schools located in Greenwich, Bexley and Kent. Though our schools may be different with their own in-school culture and community spirit, they all work harmoniously and collaboratively together within a curriculum that ensures each and every child is being equipped with leadership and life skills. At Maritime, we do this by empowering schools to drive more meaningful and enjoyable outcomes for children by having great people working for us, who commit to working hard to make an impact whatever the school and whatever the role.

We are thriving two form entry school which has been selected by the DFE to ‘grow’ to a three form entry school due to its good and outstanding statuses. By 2023 Bligh Primary will be a full three form entry school.

Our key objective at Bligh Primary School is to equip all our children with the key skills of communication and collaboration as well as being community minded. We expect all our adults to provide the children with first hand experiences, knowledge and the necessary skills to articulate what they have learnt in a clear and informative way. This is developed through our clear teaching and learning focus on communication, community and collaboration.

Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We welcome and celebrate differences within our school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by our HEART values. Bligh is a school with HEART. Honesty, Empathy, Achievement, Resilience and Teamwork. We believe that these personal characteristics are essential in forming positive adult lives.

Our community is an essential part of the curriculum, which is why we chose to focus on using the surrounding local area to deepen the children’s understanding, making them experts of their locality throughout their learning journey.

Children leave Bligh with a sense of belonging, the ability to work independently, in pairs or as part of a team in collaboration. They can communicate effectively what they have learnt, gather a wealth of knowledge and skills through all areas of the curriculum. They have a clear understanding and knowledge of the community around them, their place within it and the opportunities it presents.

Maritime Academy Trust embraces diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.
