Sturry CE Primary School has a vacancy for a part time Parent Support Advisor

The Parent Support Advisor is an integral position in our school; not only working as ‘front of house’ for parents and children but also liaising with the front office while collaborating with other staff members. The position is one in which you can make a real difference to the lives of our children and families. We are looking for someone who can be pro-active and flexible, with a positive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond when necessary to support both our children and families as well as colleagues.

The successful candidate will require relevant experience of working with families, including parents, pupils, professionals and agencies. It would be desirable to have knowledge of inter-agency provisions to support schools and families. The candidate should be able to work in a collaborative way, with the Head teacher and other school staff, to manage the diverse needs of pupils and families.

We are looking for a candidate who has exceptional inter-personal skills, who has the ability to communicate clearly and possess an understanding of the needs of children and young people. We need someone diligent, organised and efficient as it is essential that effective and accurate records are maintained.

Training will be provided to support where it is required. The successful candidate will also be open to supporting the wider Canterbury hub within the Trust.

The role is:

  • 30 hours per week across 5 days Monday to Friday. Please note these days may be subject to change in the future based on the needs of the school.
  • Term time only working, plus 5 staff development days across the year.
  • Pro-rata KR5 salary - approximately £16, 914 per year (gross)
